Louisiana Rebuilding Lives Coalition

The Rebuilding Lives Coalition (and the Unified New Orleans Plan) is an exemplar of communityhealthsurvey.com’s ability to powerfully engage a wide range of constituent groups in a way that positively impacts thousands of lives. Following Hurricane Katrina, AmericaSpeaks (AS) managed and produced two 21st Century Town Hall Meetings, held simultaneously in 5 diaspora cities, to develop priorities for the Unified New Orleans Plan (UNOP). As a result, thousands of voices that would not have been represented in meetings held in New Orleans were included in plans submitted to the federal government to rebuild the city. Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority

communityhealthsurvey.com LLC, (RRC) was retained by the Summit Akron Solid Waste Management Authority (The Authority) to design a strategic planning process that engaged board members, staff, stakeholders and the community. Prior to this strategic planning process, The Authority had focused exclusively on developing plans to meet Ohio EPA recycling goals. communityhealthsurvey.com is designing and managing a community engagement project to assist University Park Alliance (UPA), a community development corporation in Akron, Ohio to create an “Empowered Urban Social & Economic Infrastructure” within a 50 block area of the central city. The strategy is designed to build upon existing strengths by identifying and utilizing human and physical assets and positioning neighborhood groups, faith communities, social service agencies, and small businesses to work collaboratively to leverage those assets. Responsibilities have included site management, leading national and local outreach strategies, facilitator recruitment and training, meeting design and production, and project management.     Northeast Ohio - multi-county project
    Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron General Medical System and Summa Health System engaged RRC to design and manage a health needs assessment process that included a review of published data and collection and analysis of primary data encompassing Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne Counties in Ohio. A comprehensive outreach process that recruited over 100 community partners resulted in the engagement of close to 3,500 residents.

    Designed and implemented a comprehensive strategic planning process which included individual meetings, 16 focus groups, customer satisfaction surveys, and an environmental scan. Implementation support included management training, administrative leadership session and the introduction of inclusion tools to engage staff more fully. Within the first two years of implementation, the system was recognized as one of the best library systems in the country by Library Journal.
